2021 Murdoch Hill Landau Syrah

Michael Downer is the embodiment of the young Australian winemaker, boldly taking his family winery into new territory. His latest releases are some of his best work to date.
This Syrah from their home-owned Oakbank vineyard is an excellent example of Shiraz variety grown in a cooler climate. It's a wine of detail, expressive and evocative. It's classy cool-climate Syrah, the way it's meant to be.
This wine combines a great site with thoughtful winemaking; a winning combination and a tantalising example of things to come from this exciting Adelaide Hills operation.
2022 Murdoch Hill Phaeton Pinot Noir
This is the peak Pinot Noir in the Murdoch Hill range, and is now entirely sourced from the cool Piccadilly Valley from two vineyard sites, one at Mount Lofty and one in Ashton.
It's is a fine, fragrant Pinot, full of florals and red fruits, with pomegranate and cranberry flavours galore. Ethereal, featherweight but with some delayed savoury length and power.
Full of character and always highly rated by the critics, this is surely one of the finest Pinots in the Hills.
2022 Murdoch Hill Vis-a-Vis Cabernet Franc
This wine was made as a tip of a cap to the energetic, mid-weight red wines of the Loire Valley.
Michael Downer has been making big moves over the last few years looking for more drinkability in his reds wines. Keeping them fresh and light on their feet. This fits nicely into that brief.
It's Cabernet Franc made to be drunk in any weather, even with a chill if you like. Loads of sweet berries and a lilting floral perfume. It's a sublime red wine that's sure to be a huge crowd pleaser.
2022 Murdoch Hill Tilbury Chardonnay
Murdoch Hill's 'Artisan' series is where winemaker Michael Downer has spread his wings in the family range.
Coming from a single vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley sub-region of the Adelaide Hills, the Tilbury Chardonnay is whole bunch and whole berry fermented, with older French oak, only partial MLF and loads of 'solids work' - giving the wine weight and complexity without ever feeling 'over-worked'.
If you love your premium Hills Chardonnay then this needs to be on your dining table. It's terrific.
2022 Murdoch Hill Artisan Series Sulky Riesling
Adelaide Hills Riesling flying high here in the hands of Michael Downer.
Some skin contact, some fermenting in old barrels, anything to uncover some unique characteristics.
Adelaide Hills Riesling isn't the most common thing, but here with the multiple components put together, the final blend is seamlessly balanced and great to drink.
Michael says it's a wine built for daytime drinking, and he is absolutely right. It's slick, a little wild and totally enchanting.

Ordering
We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

- Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.
We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.
To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.
