The Most Exciting Wine Collaboration This Year...
We are thrilled to bring you an exclusive offer today for the most exciting wine collaboration in Australia this year. Allow us to present to you, the much-anticipated debut release of the Vanguardist X Tonic GSM.

This epic collaboration is a decade in the making between Michael J. Corbett (Vanguardist) and Glenn Barry (Tonic Wines). The two first met in 2013, whilst working at Knappstein in the Clare Valley. A joint love of fine wine & food, rugby and darts kicked off a great friendship that would be formative for both their brands over the coming years.

Whilst building Tonic & Vanguardist, the two acted as each other's sounding boards, lending sage advice and a sound critical eye as they each carved out their own niche in the small and awesome part of the artisanal Australian wine industry.

They have been mates, colleagues and the bane of many a late-night publican as closing hours approached. A joint wine project had often been kicked around, but never quite lined up. Finally, in 2022, on a long car ride back to South Australia after watching Nick Cave & Warren Ellis' iconic Kingdom In The Sky performance at Hanging Rock, they locked it down.

One great collaboration inspiring another? Perhaps.

In any event, it's that car ride we have to thank for the first-ever Vanguardist X Tonic GSM...

It's a rare and beautiful thing when two producers of this stature combine their considerable winemaking talents. The end result is just as mouth-wateringly delicious as you might imagine.

The fruit is sourced from some of their favourite sites across the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley & McLaren Vale. The Grenache comes from Vanguardist's famous Rende Grenache block in the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs. Barry contributed the Barossa Shiraz and Clare Valley Mataro that form the basis of his cult Tonic single varietal wines. They've fused the wines that have put their labels up in lights and sculpted something that is perhaps greater than the sum of its parts.

For the two men, it's more than just another wine. It's a melding of the minds, regions and varieties that have been pivotal to their individual wine journeys. It's the distilling of a long-time friendship into something they will share for decades to come.

The wine comes with a brilliant review and 95 points from The Wine Front's Gary Walsh. The small amount released to each of the producers' mailing lists disappeared in minutes. We are quite humbled that they would share this small allocation exclusively with us at Different Drop and thrilled to offer you the only remaining retail stocks in the country.

With just 100 dozen made in totality, our allotment is minuscule. Secure your own piece of this great Australian wine story below while stocks last.
