2018 Two Tonne Tasmania Ziggurat Pinot Noir
The Ziggurat Pinot Noir from young Ricky Evans is a delicious, highly-gluggable version of Pinot Noir built for early drinking.
This wine is made from two different vineyards that Ricky manages. The fruit from these sites is more red fruited and juicy than his more moody and savoury TMV or Dog & Wolf Pinot Noirs. This fruit is primed for this Cru-Beaujolais-inspired style of wine that Ricky loves to make and drink.
This is about trying to find different expressions of this hallowed variety. Ziggurat is made to be a delicious early drinker, with Gamay-esque mouthfeel and tantalisingly vibrant flavours.
It's downright delicious.

Made from a blend of fruit from Barney's outstanding single vineyards, with the best fruit from the Teurong and Balnarring Single Vineyard wines making their way into the blend this year. This represents the essence of Mornington Peninsular Pinot Noir.
No whole bunches here and the emphasis is definitely on ripe Pinot fruit, showcasing the impeccable vineyard management and winemaking of this Mornington guru.
It's unfined and unfiltered, with plenty of savoury complexity to balance the finish.

Born and raised in Healsville in the heart of the Yarra Valley, Rob Hall knows good Pinot Noir.
This wine comes together from three different vineyards across the region.
He takes the prettiness of the Willowlake vineyard in the South, the richer, riper fruit from Daniel's Hill in the North and the power of his family's vineyard in the middle that adds structure.
In 2017 the pieces came together beautifully.
James Halliday awarded it 95 points making it a great option for those seeking a good value Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.
