About the Wine
The NV Pierre Gerbais Les Grandes Cotes Lieu Dit Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut shows tremendous balance and power from the moment you pour it.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir that saw its primary fermentation in stainless steel before maturation and secondary fermentation in bottle, the fruit is pure, with rich aromas of sultana and pear and notes of baked goods which are mirrored on the palate, along with red fruit flavours underscoring the ripeness of the harvest.
The acidity is utterly refreshing while the mousse is fine and mouth filling. Another excellent champagne from Piere Gerbais.
About Pierre Gerbais
The Gerbais family has farmed their patch of the deep south of Champagne, Celles-sur-Ource in the Cote-des-Bar, since 1930.
An organic operation since 1996, this family Domaine is notable for their use of Pinot Blanc in their Champagne cuveés. The addition of this variety brings a floral aspect to the wines and brings a freshness to the acidity.
Aurélien Gerbais, 8th generation grower and 4th generation winemaker runs the show, releasing fine elegant wines, delivered in a delicate frame.
