About the Wine
Made solely from Pinot Meunier, the NV Pierre Gerbais Bochot Lieu Dit Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut shows the complexity and power, as well as class, that is possible from this red grape in a blanc de noirs. The aromatics shows a rich bouquet of honey, baked goods, stone fruit, blueberry and some creaminess, which shine from the glass.
The palate reflects the ripeness of the fruit, with more baked goods, honey, stone fruits as well as apple and berries giving it richness. The fresh acidity and minerality give the champagne a lovely mouthfeel, with a long finish to this beautiful wine.
About Pierre Gerbais
The Gerbais family has farmed their patch of the deep south of Champagne, Celles-sur-Ource in the Cote-des-Bar, since 1930.
An organic operation since 1996, this family Domaine is notable for their use of Pinot Blanc in their Champagne cuveés. The addition of this variety brings a floral aspect to the wines and brings a freshness to the acidity.
Aurélien Gerbais, 8th generation grower and 4th generation winemaker runs the show, releasing fine elegant wines, delivered in a delicate frame.
