Grande Cuvee 8 ans

"At 47, when I wanted to create my own Champagne house, I had to make very good Champagne. I can't compromise on quality. Everything I thought was a challenge in my life has turned out to be the opportunity of a lifetime."
- Virginie Taittinger

VT. Grande Cuvée is the bottle for anyone who loves the depth, texture and savoury richness of mature Champagne. Long ageing is central to Virginie T’s approach, and the ‘8 ans’ - a small-batch project - takes that commitment further, giving the wine years to develop before it reaches your glass.

Virginie Taittinger and her son Ferdinand bring two generations of Champagne experience to their small family house. Here, Chardonnay leads the blend alongside Pinot Noir, with barrel maturation adding another layer of texture.

The extended time on lees brings brioche, toasted bread and hazelnut, with a creamy palate and a gently savoury edge. There’s plenty of weight of course, but fresh acidity and a salty finish keep it dry and lively.

Serve it in a generous wine glass and let it open up rather than pouring it ice cold. Mature Champagne flavour with the benefit of years in the cellar make this a particularly unique and rewarding bottle. Extremely limited with only a handful of bottles imported.

NV Champagne Virginie T VT.
