I can't compromise on quality. Everything I thought was a challenge in my life has turned out to be the opportunity of a lifetime."
- Virginie Taittinger

Chardonnay has a special place in Virginie Taittinger’s story. After around twenty years at her family’s famous Champagne house where Chardonnay was so treasured by her father Claude Taittinger, she brought that experience to her own label, where this Blanc de Blancs shows another side of a largely Pinot-focused range.

Made alongside her son Ferdinand, it draws on Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, the heartland of Champagne Chardonnay. Their approach puts as much emphasis on texture and time in the cellar as it does on freshness.

Extended ageing brings a gentle brioche character around the floral notes, with a chalky feel and a dry, saline finish. There’s enough roundness to make it welcoming, but the heart of this Chardonnay is about freshness, florals, fun fruit and fine fizz. All the f's!

For anyone who gravitates towards Blanc de Blancs, this is a bottle well worth trying.
