About The Wine
100% Pinot Noir sparkling from the southern Champagne outpost, the Cotes des Bars.
Owner Davy Dosnon is obviously a dab hand with Pinot as this is a quality wine, medium to full bodied in style, and beautifully balanced.
There's some mineral drive from the limestone soils are found in the rolling hills of this lovely part of the France, and fermentation in old Puligny- Montrachet barrels adds a touch of complexity and class.
Delicious drinking for under $100!
About Champagne Dosnon
Champagne Dosnon (previously known as Dosnon & Lepage) is the brainchild of Davy Dosnon, whose family has been in the southern part of the Champagne region called the Cote des Bars for many hundreds of years.
After many years making wine in Burgundy, Davy returned to his homeland, releasing his first wines from the 2007 vintage.
Along with his business partner Nicolas Laugerotte, they make rich but crunchy expressions of Champagne, reflecting the rolling limestone hills of the area (which is not too far from Chablis).
Young Davy has a modern outlook on an old industry, moving towards complete sustainability across all areas of the business.
