About The Pack

Australian Chardonnay has come a long way over the last decade. From overly oaked caricatures to fine, balanced wines of elegance, it's been a huge turn around.

Here are six scintillating Chardonnays that showcase the excellent quality and value on offer today in Aussie Chardonnay.

It's the perfect way to explore a wide array of styles from some excellent producers.

2021 Domaine Naturaliste Floris Chardonnay

If you want Chardonnay with some flesh and weight, this is one of the best value you are going to find in Margaret River.

Bruce Dukes' obsession with Chardonnay clones has brought him to the conclusion that the Gin Gin clone is the best suited in Margaret River. As such, he uses this Gin Gin exclusively with all his Chardonnays, searching for sites where the variety does best in his region.

His mid-tier Floris Chardonnay shows ample barrel complexity alongside delicious stone fruit characters and a hint of grapefruit.

Classic Margaret River Chardonnay and great buying at this price.

2022 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Chardonnay

Another fantastic release here of one of Victoria's best value Chardonnays.

Fruit sourced from sites in Tuerong, Merricks and Balnarring, which have an average vine age of 25 years. The aroma profile is intense and powerfully concentrated with a hint of opulence — packed full of charm and intriguing personality.

There is never a lot of this wine around and given the value on offer, it's no wonder. Great buying.

2022 Mac Forbes Yarra Valley Chardonnay

The Yarra Valley is one of the homes of great Australian Chardonnay. Getting the best out of Chardonnay from this region is definitely an area of expertise for Mac Forbes.

If you like a more linear, modern expression of the variety, walk this way. All of his Chardonnays strike that lovely balance between elegance, finesse, and freshness. They're fine-boned, pure and superb to drink. It's designed to capture the essence of Yarra Valley Chardonnay.

This is quintessential modern Yarra Chardonnay that will mature beautifully over the medium term.

2022 Two Tonne Tasmania TMV Chardonnay

The TMV Chardonnay from young Ricky Evans is a wine designed to tell the story of the vintage through the lens of the Tamar Valley

This wine is made from two different parcels of fruit from Ricky's fledgeling vineyard. It's a classic, generous expression of Chardonnay from the region.

Ricky has made quite a lot of Chardonnay during his previous life at a bigger Tasmanian-based wine company, here is his chance to make the style of Chardonnay that he wants to drink.

It's excellent value - you'll need to look long and hard for a better priced Chardonnay of this quality from the Apple Isle.

2022 Kerri Greens Pigface Chardonnay

Smooth, caressing Chardonnay from a single vineyard plot in the Balnarring sub-region of Mornington.

Less of a sunshine in a glass tropical white and more of a leaden-skies sit by the fire savoury Chardonnay to drink while the roast chicken cooks. Softly textured, hazelnuts and ripe stonefruits.

Wild fermented in old french oak. Minimal additions, all unfined and unfiltered, and all kinds of delicious.

2022 Nick Spencer Tumbarumba Chardonnay

Full and satisfying Chardonnay under Nick Spencer's eponymous label.

The fruit comes from Tumbarumba, from where Nick has made Chardonnay from for over a decade.

A streamlined expression of the variety which showcases the purity of fruit from this cool NSW region, it nevertheless packs in some creamy richness.

It's excellent modern Australian Chardonnay, any way you dice it.

I won't lie i'm a sucker for all things chardonnay, so this pack was amazing, i'm a local Brisbane bartender and wanted to try something different so i posted in a local bar networking group we have BBN asking for recommendations of wine packs that aren't your average packs, and was told to try DD, i can say DD delivered the goods! i was blown away by the wines in this pack and can't wait for my next box! the best gift I've ever given myself was a box from different drop! can not fault!

    Nice selection. Fair price

I really bought this pack not just due to my obsession with chardonnay but that it came with a Slint by Ochota Barrels (which are getting harder and harder to find). I have to say it was just as or a little better than I expected. A nice range from across southern Australia and a great way to get a taste of quality chardonnay across 4 or 5 different regions. The standout so far (only 4 bottles in) was the Dr Edge, but the Garagista and the TT (who's pinot noir I love) were not far behind. I have also bought more of the Lambert, The Commune I am yet to try and the Slint will be getting a lie down for 3 or 4 years. The price is about what you'd expect if bought separately, but certainly worth it as a package. Would recommend to any chardonnay lover
