2020 Les Errances Tohu Bohu Petillant Naturel Rose
What's going on here? Tohu Bohu?
What's going on is a zesty natural Pet Nat from a young winemaking couple in Rablay-sur-Layon - a blend of Chenin, Grolleau and some Cabernet Franc which finishes its ferment inside the bottle.
Boisterous natural fun, with just a touch of sugar remaining unferrmented and heaps our crunchy citrus acidity and raspberry candy flavours. Ou est le pique-nique?

Old vine Sauvignon Blanc from Cheverny near the banks of the might Loire. With honeydew melon and tangy citrus flavours, this a riper Sauvignon than the region normally produces, making it super-attractive at first sniff.
There is no oak involved but plenty of lees-stirring and time in bottle pre-release, so there is also texture and length.
A superb all-round people pleaser.

Le Facteur (French for Postman) is the wing of Mathieu Cosme's label that focuses on natural wines, or minimal intervention at the very least. He farms his land in a traditional way, using no herbicides or pesticides and, remarkably, still tilling the vineyard with the help of his horse.
A generous style of Chenin with a breadth of fruit, savoury elements and lively acidity holding it all together.
Classic Chenin from really old vines with universal appeal.

A Vin de France wine produced exclusively from Gamay, and sourced from the vineyard being to a friend of the Puzelat brothers in Touraine, that is all organically farmed. The vines are quite young, ranging in age from 5-30+ years-old planted on clay-calcareous soils.
Such a slurpable easy going wine, light fragrant and everything you want in a fresher style Gamay. Juicy and lithe, with lovely tart black and red berries, it’s supple, bright, and really refreshing, a thirst slaking kind of wine.
The wine is fermented whole bunch, allowing the carbonic process to happen naturally, and this is clear to see in the results. The brightness and primary up front juicy fruit character are the hallmarks of this style. Just such an enjoyable light red that exemplifies Glou Glou wines.

Loire Valley Cabernet Franc has the ability to be a lithe and light wine, while at the same time having so much character and intensity to it. The Les Granges from Baudry is just that, it’s the type of bottle that empties in the blink of an eye.
Breathe in the perfume; floral, bright, juicy fruit, fresh-squeezed berries - so juicy, and saliva inducing. On the palate, silky tannins and ripened blackcurrant/blackberry, black pepper and anise (AKA hallmark Franc stuff).
You want to drink this as the sun goes down and the BBQ is firing up - you'll be in for a laid back treat. Maybe put on some Enya, why not?
