Flamsteed is considered one of the modern masters of Yarra winemaking and with Giant Steps a solo operation now, you can see him at the height of his powers.
This is a superb entry point into the world of premium Yarra Pinot Noir. It's made with 40% whole bunches and the meticulous attention to detail for which Flamsteed has become renowned.

2018 Giant Steps LDR Pinot Syrah
The LDR (Light Dry Red) is a lipsmacking blend of Pinot Noir from the Primavera vineyard high in the hills of the Yarra Valley and Syrah from Phils Sexton's home block on the Valley floor and the notable Tarraford vineyard.
It's slinky, seductive, and incredibly easy to drink. Campbell Mattinson had no problems in offering a strong recommendation in his 932point review.

2017 Giant Steps Yarra Valley Syrah
If you love your cool climate Shiraz, then we have a winner for you here. Under the guidance of winemaking wizard Steve Flamsteed and with access to many of the Yarra Valley's finest vineyards, the Giant Steps juggernaut is becoming an unstoppable force.
The suite of new releases from Flamsteed and Co. are brilliant. The fruit for this Syrah is hand-picked from the Tarraford and Sexton vineyards. As with everything Flamsteed puts his name to the treatment in the winery is very gentle and unobtrusive, with wild yeasts, open fermenters and older large format oak use.
The resulting wine is a beauty. Pure and precise, detailed and complex, perfectly pitched. In his 94 point review Campbell Mattinson called it "well and truly satisfying", and it's hard to argue.
