2016 Domaine Clos Roussely Loire Sauvignon Blanc
This lively Sauvignon Blanc offers great value for money.
This vineyard has been owned by the Roussely family since 1917. The son, Vincent Roussely, took over the family business and had the farm organically certified in 2009.
Vincent is a staunch traditionalist, using horses in the field and a gentle hand through the winemaking process to produce this elegant, crunchy, lightly textural style of Sauvignon which is screaming for a side of fresh seafood.
It's bright, juicy and terrific drinking from this respected Loire Valley producer.Read more about 2016 Domaine Clos Roussely Loire Sauvignon Blanc

2017 Georges Descombes Brouilly
Georges Descombe is the son of a Beaujolais vigneron who found his inspiration for his own label in the legendary wines of local legend, Marcel Lapierre.
Whilst working on the bottling line for many of the local producers, Georges was taken with the purity and finesse of the wines of Lapierre who's natural approach has carved a path for so many in the region. Georges has taken his father's traditional farming practices to another level, now having both his inherited and acquired vineyards certified organic and choosing a hands-off approach in the cellar.
His Brouilly is a light, bouncy expression of this famous site - charged with a gravelly/mineral intensity derived from Brouilly's granite soils.
It's a jubilant wine, full of energy and life. A treat for those who seek lighter reds with a big personality.Read more about 2017 Georges Descombes Brouilly
2017 Clos Troteligotte K-Or
Here's a wicked, naturally made Malbec from the motherland.
Winemaker Emmanuel Rybinski harvests his fruit by hand, then ferments and ages it in unlined concrete tanks. Manu prefers his tanks unlined to encourage more microbial life during his wild ferments. It gives his wines a raw energy and wild edge and without oak, allows a more pure expression of the variety.
The 'K-OR' is a ripe, luscious red brimming with blue fruit, florals and minerality. The red 'K' on the bottle paying homage to the 'bloody/iron' notes he so often sees in this cuveé.
This wine flies in the face of the regional status quo, and it's a flat out delicious drink.Read more about 2017 Clos Troteligotte K-Or
2016 Domaine du Seminaire Cote du Rhone
This great value little Cote du Rhone is put together by Hervé Pouizin, a winemaker who's family has farmed their patch of land in the foothills of the Alps, for four generations.
Hervé and his wife, Mathilde, have converted the property to organic farming. Hervé says, "My grandfather taught me a lot and taught me to observe and take care of the plant..." He now farms with that philosophy at the front of mind.
This wine is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Carignan. It's open, warm and ready to drink. There's the signature richness of the region, tempered with a little more restraint from the cooler site where this family resides.
Value for money wise, this is a cracking all-rounder red.Read more about 2016 Domaine du Seminaire Cote du Rhone
