About The Gin

A distilled essence of the Yarra Valley here from local artisan Gin producer, Four Pillars.

This is their classic Rare Dry Gin infused with locally grown premium Shiraz grapes. The fruit is kept as whole berries and macerated in the Gin before pressing and further blending.

The blood red colour and added flavour infusion make for a Gin of great impact.

It's flavoursome, with sweet berry flavours amongst the classic Four Pillars backdrop and looks amazing as it turns hot pink when blended with a good clean tonic or soda.

From The Producer

Our home is in the Yarra Valley, where our neighbours make some of the finest wines in the world. So in 2015 we combined our Rare Dry Gin with some of the best Shiraz grapes in Australia to create our Bloody Shiraz Gin for the first time.

And now each year we steep Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes in gin, and after eight weeks we press the fruit before blending with more Rare Dry Gin.

The 2018 release has great depth of colour and is much richer and more vibrant than 2017, carrying really beautiful purples and reds to bottle. Flavour-wise it’s showing dark fruit, red berry and spice. There is also plenty of that classic Yarra Shiraz white pepper. And of course a lovely ginny character carries those grape aromas, making it unmistakably gin. The palate is lovely and sweet, with long juniper and spice characters to finish.

The ABV is 37.8%, unlike Sloe Gin where the alcohol less than 30%. So it packs a punch and is ideal in a range of cocktails. The gin is unfiltered, so it will develop secondary fruit characters beyond two years, and is best consumed within two years of vintage.

How To Serve

The Blood Slide


- 60mL Bloody Shiraz Gin
- 22.5mL Kirsty's smoked blood orange syrup
- 22.5mL lime juice
- 1 dash rhubarb bitters
- 4 mint leaves
- 1 dash absinthe


- Combine all ingredients in a shaker and get your shake on
- Strain into a chilled coupette
- Garnish with a lime wheel, a mint leaf or a dehydrated blood orange wheel
