About The Pack
Due respect to the Clare Valley, Central Otago, Tasmania and others... the world's finest Rieslings are found in Europe, and three regions in particular - Alsace in France, and Mosel and the Rheinhessen in Germany.
We've put together a tremendous trio of wines from some of these region's greatest producers, namely Domaine Weinbach, Clemens Busch and Gunderloch. They are dry, evocative and ethereal wines, and all and very cellarworthy, but to be honest we think you should enjoy them now!
2019 Clemens Busch Marienburg Grosses Gewachs Riesling
Clemens Busch is the fifth generation of Busch men to farm their family's vineyards along the Mosel.
The man is an iconoclast, a renegade, and arguably the best 'natural' producer of fine wines in the region.
A man well ahead of the curve, Clemens began converting his vineyards to organics in 1984. He now has each site certified biodynamic and is producing powerful Rieslings with no additions save the minimum amount of effective sulphur.
The Grosses Gewächs wines are the best examples of dry Mosel that Clemens produces. Insanely intense and with phenomenal drive, these world-class wines hail from excellent vineyards.
The Marienburg 1er GG is from 40 year old vines planted on a grey slate section of the vineyard. It shows ripe citrus and blistering acidity - a stellar example of dry Mosel that will cellar for decades to come.

If only every winery's 'entry-level' wine was of such class and pedigree.
Cuvee Theo Riesling comes exclusively from the monopole Le Clos des Capucins (named from the Capuchin friars who arrived here in 1619), at the base of the famed Schlossberg hill.
A lighter style then its celebrated stable mates but certainly fleshier and richer than most Australians. Citrus, white blossom florals, herbals... then finishes with a zing fling. Outstanding stuff.

Grosses Gewachs Riesling from Germany is generally a showcase in the power of this grape, and this wine is no exception.
Striking in its mineral complexion, this GG Rizza has a big expressive nose of exotic spice and tropical fruit. Yet on the palate it’s more restrained, and dry, with the powerful minerality at the fore.
Benchmark stuff here, this is a great example of this noble variety in all its elegant glory.
