"The wine is full-bodied yet balanced to the point of elegance."
- James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)
The Magnolia vineyard forms the backbone of the excellent Eperosa range made by Barossa born-and-bred, Brett Grocke.
Originally planted back in 1896, Magnolia is an imporant site in the history of the Barossa Valley. This single block wine celebrates these original plantings.
Each vine is tended by hand, each berry meticulously selected for the blend. Once you taste the finished product, you'll see it was well worth the painstaking process. Grocke says, "The combination of organic farming and 121 year old vines has resulted in a wine of brilliant fruit purity, depth and complexity."
This is Barossa Shiraz in full robe. It's rich, concentrated and epic in volume.

"Grossly underpriced."
- James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)
The Magnolia Road vineyard, originally planted in 1896 in Vine Vale, is lovingly tended with organic practices by wine grower/maker Brett Grocke.
The portion of the vineyard that supplies the fruit for this wine was planted in 1965. These 50+-year-old youngster vines yield impeccable fruit with remarkable concentration. The soft, pulpy heart of Barossa Shiraz is on show here in this top value release.
Just four of the best barrels from this site combined for this bottling. With just a little over 100 cases made and Brett's recent nod as James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year, this exemplary wine will not last long.

"It's a wine that I retasted numerous times..."
- James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)
Stonegarden is one of the most famous vineyards in the Barossa Valley.
These old, legendary vines produce some of the most earth-shatteringly powerful fruit in the whole region. Brett Grocke has tended these vines for many years, when he picks the fruit, he knows it intimately.
This is an imperious wine. Bold, polished, unabashed an imminently cellar-worthy. It's Grenache from one of the country's great viticultural resources and it's treated with due respect by the winemaker.
With 97 points from James Halliday, this is the perfect option for lovers of serious, premium Barossa Grenache.

- James Halliday (Halliday Wine Companion)
This is the best value way to get yourself an introduction to the superb Barossan wines of James Halliday's 2021 Winemaker of the Year, Brett Grocke.
Barossa Mataro is often the bridesmaid, rarely the bride. Here, Grocke puts it front and centre with Shiraz working the back-up mic.
Mataro from the Hoffmann Sand Block vineyard is framed by 25% Shiraz from Brett's Magnolia block into a smooth, seductive red wine that delivers outrageous value for money.
It's deep, earthy, savoury and stacked with ripe, open fruit. It's the perfect everyday Barossa red from a rising star of the region.

Brett Grocke moved to a new shed to make his wines in 2016.
What he hadn't planned on was that the wild yeasts he had relied on for almost a decade to ferment his wines wouldn't come with him.
What resulted was plenty of stuck ferments and a lot of wine was lost. Lessons learnt the hard way.
What we have here is a 'Meld' of the best finished wines from the vintage. Old vine Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz at a steal.
Gary Walsh awarded it 94 points and it's a lovely warming red wine to drink.
