A new age McLaren Vale red wine here from the notable Lloyd family of Coriole fame. The brothers Duncan and Peter forging a new project from their Blewitt Springs vineyard.

Nero d'Avola has become one of the great rising varieties of McLaren Vale, with Coriole doing plenty to raise its profile. And Nero takes centre stage here, surrounded by Shiraz, Carignan and Mourvedre.

The 2017 release is every bit as alluring as the ripping  debut from 2016.

Not a foot wrong so far from this exciting rising McLaren Vale project.

2016 Dune Empty Quarter

The Lloyd brothers have burst out of the gates with a suite of interesting and delicious examples of McLaren Vale wines.

With firm roots in the region, hailing from the great Lloyd dynasty at Coriole, this is the boys chance to spread their wings and do things their own way.

This is a blend of Grenache, Mataro, Carignan and a dash of Shiraz. Medium bodied, svelte and spicy with delicious ripe fruit flavours, they've nailed this wine from first swing of the hammer. James Halliday awarded it 95 points on release.

2016 Dune Blewitt Springs Shiraz

The Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale typically producers a softer, more approachable style of Shiraz.

Brothers Duncan and Peter Lloyd are making the most of the regional characteristics here to deliver a McLaren Vale Shiraz that can be enjoyed immediately, as opposed to the more hulking full-bodied styles that look best with a few years under the belt.

This is made with very little interference from the boys. The fruit quality of the stellar 2016 vintage doing all the work.

It's a ripe yet easy drinking Shiraz which will be very difficult to put down.

2017 Coriole Nero

It's no surprise to see McLaren Vale's Coriole leading the way with yet another Italian variety, but that's exactly what they're doing with Nero d'Avola.

'Nero' is one of the emerging varieties rapidly gaining popularity for its suitability to Australian growing conditions and sheer drinkability.

The 2017 is right in the zone for pleasurable any day If you want to see what the fuss is about with this Sicilian sensation without breaking the bank, you can't go wrong here.

2017 Coriole Barbera

The visionary team at Coriole in Mclaren Vale have been pioneers of Italian varietals since 1985, making them one of the godfathers of Mediterranean wines in this country.

The famous Shiraz region has become a second home for the rustic varietals native to Italy and Spain, and Coriole's Barbera is a first class example. 

It's a juicy, jubey, boisterous style of red which will take you by the hand and lead you on down to flavour town.

The 2017 is the 31st consecutive vintage of this wine, a remarkable achievement and something the Lloyd family can be extremely proud of. And it looks in great form too. This is the perfect place to start if you are looking to explore Italian varieties.

We ship primarily with Australia Post. Their fast, easy and reliable delivery is completely FREE for any orders of $150 or more, or just $9 for any orders of $149 or less. There is no minimum order quantity and you can mix and match as much as you like.
