About The Pack
At the ripe old age of 56, Marc Delienne made an incredible sea (or vine) change.
He left his life in Paris working in IT & banking and moved himself to Beaujolais. In 2015 he purchased Château de l’Abbaye Saint Laurent d’Arpayé in the centre of Fleurie. Mentored by the likes of Alain Graillot and Eloi Dürrbach at Domaine Trévallon in Provence, he came to town with the fiery passion of a man many years his junior.
A conversion of his 40-80-year-old vines to organic farming was immediate. A vat room was built in short order. Gorgeous, elegant wines made with meticulous attention to detail emerged in what seemed like no time at all.
Here is a trio of his Beaujolais releases from 2019. These are rare and stunning wines and not a whole lot of them make it to Australia. This pack will not be available for long.
2019 Domaine Marc Delienne Avalanche de Printemps Fleurie Gamay
The Avalanche de Printemps is a wine brought to bottle early, built around a concept of vibrancy and freshness.
The grapes come from the South-East section of Delienne's Fleurie vineyard where the soils are a mix of sand and rocky granite. This combination of soils, along with the gentle extraction of tannin and colour in the cellar by Marc's hand, yields a wine with an intoxicating perfume and finesse.
Buoyant, expressive, pulsating with energy, it's these kind of wines that are driving people back to Beaujolais in such a big way at the moment.

2019 Domaine Marc Delienne Abbaye Road Fleurie Gamay
Abbaye Road is named for the residence that Marc Delienne purchased when he moved to Beaujolais.
It's a blend of multiple batches of fruit from his steep, organically farmed slopes in Fleurie, aged in his huge foudres. It's another wicked release from this rising star producer.
It's a little fleshier than the mineral-charged Avalanche and polished Greta Carbo, but just like the others, the quality is undeniable.
This is great Beaujolais, ready to be drunk immediately.Read more about 2019 Domaine Marc Delienne Abbaye Road Fleurie Gamay
2019 Domaine Marc Delienne Greta Carbo Fleurie Gamay
Greta Carbo is a slinky, seductive number, polished and beautifully poised. Of the suite of phenomenal wines from this producer, Greta may be the most suited to a little extra time in the bottle.
This cuvee is denser, wonderfully structural and shows a perfect balance between sweet earthy tannin and plush pools of fruit.
If you've ever wondered what great 'natural' wines taste like, this is as good an example as you will find. It's savoury yet smooth and flat out stunning to drink.Read more about 2019 Domaine Marc Delienne Greta Carbo Fleurie Gamay
