About The Pack
At the ripe old age of 56, Marc Delienne made an incredible sea (or vine) change.
He left his life in Paris working in IT & banking and moved himself to Beaujolais. In 2015 he purchased Château de l’Abbaye Saint Laurent d’Arpayé in the centre of Fleurie. Mentored by the likes of Alain Graillot and Eloi Dürrbach at Domaine Trévallon in Provence, he came to town with the fiery passion of a man many years his junior.
A conversion of his 40-80-year-old vines to organic farming was immediate. A vat room was built in short order. Gorgeous, elegant wines made with meticulous attention to detail emerged in what seemed like no time at all.
Here is his complete set of Beaujolais from 2018. These are rare and stunning wines and it's their first time in Australia. This pack will not be available for long.
2018 Domaine Marc Delienne Avalanche de Printemps Fleurie Gamay
The Avalanche de Printemps is a wine brought to bottle early, built around a concept of vibrancy and freshness.
The grapes come from the South-East section of Delienne's Fleurie vineyard where the soils are a mix of sand and rocky granite. This combination of soils, along with the gentle extraction of tannin and colour in the cellar by Marc's hand, yields a wine with an intoxicating perfume and finesse.
Bouyant, expressive, pulsating with energy, it's these kind of wines that are driving people back to Beaujolais in such a big way at the moment.
Only tiny allocations available for a limited time.

The "Maurice" is a new cuveé in the Domaine Marc Delienne line up this year.
The wine is named for the previous owner of the property that Marc grows his wines from in Fleurie.
It's fermented semi-carbonically, allowing plenty of primary fruit to shine throught as well as plenty of stucture to be extracted.
It's the moddier, broodier expression from this vintage with more smaoke and mineral character. It's classic Beaujolais with a little wildness in its eye.

"The volume is turned up here. Big cherry, big strawberry, wild herbs, alpine herbs, some game meatiness. Nice. Chewy palate but fresh feeling. Jolly slosh in the palate, rolls around nicely, fresh-feeling but with lots of depth, a wild balsamic tang in there too. Spicy finish. Very. Perky, bold strike of Booj." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

"Bright and vivacious style, deep into ripe cherry, stewed cherry, warm forest berry zone with pops of pepper, green herb and chamomile. Supple in the palate, soft and round, mouth-watering acidity and supple tannins. Lovely, bright finish closes the wine. Such a treat here. So seductive." - Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)
