About The Pack
There is scarcely a wine style or category growing in popularity as quickly as Rosé. Australian Rosé has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with the best modern examples showing a finesse, balance and complexity rarely seen in the past. This pack is designed to showcase six of the finest and more 'serious' Rosés on the market, all made by brilliant artisan producers. Whether you love Rosé or you tend to avoid anything pink, this pack and the stunning wines included are simply a must-try.
2018 Farr Rising Saignée
The Farr Rising Saignée is simply beautiful, and perfect for those who like a little more complexity in their Rosé wines.
The juice is 'bled' from the Farr's estate-grown Pinot Noir fruit after two-three hours on skins. So, the base for this wine is some of the most revered Pinot fruit in the country - a very good place to start. The juice is then barrel fermented and goes through malo to produce a finished wine that is at once delicate but full flavoured.
It's complex and food-friendly, but gluggable at the same time. Typical class from Nick Farr here - a tip top Rosé.Read more about 2018 Farr Rising Saignée
2017 Eastern Peake Pinot Tache
Here is the newest Rosé from young Owen Latta, the exciting winemaker at Ballarat boutique producer, Eastern Peake/Latta Vino.
This is a dead serious Rosé made with intent and supreme craftsmanship.
The Pinot Noir fruit sees more than a year on lees after being barrel fermented, a long, slow process to get to bottle and it's entirely worth the wait. The added time on lees and in barrel takes the textural elements of this wine into the stratosphere. It's a Rosé made as a fine wine, showcasing the complexity achievable in this wine style.
One word of warning, this is highly addictive, something you may need more than just one bottle.Read more about 2017 Eastern Peake Pinot Tache
2018 Brash Higgins NYMPH Rosé
The NYMPH Rosé is a crisp, nervy wine with a cheeky attitude.
This is Cinsault and and Carignan from a neighbour's block in McLaren Vale. Texture and acidity deftly woven throughout the wine by Hickey, it's a Rosé with a little more under the hood.
It's a livewire, a whip crack of a wine.
Minute quantities available and all but sold out at Cellar Door. Jump while you can.Read more about 2018 Brash Higgins NYMPH Rosé
2018 Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosé
This gorgeous Rosé is an unusual blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling with incredible texture and a pliant, silky mouthfeel.
The firm, earthy, berried characters of the Cabernet fuses perfectly with the juicy citrus-driven flavours of the Riesling. How well these two varieties worked together surprised even the winemaker himself, "At times, I actually struggled to believe that such an unlikely combination of varieties could yield a wine so endearing!"
The wine is worked in barrel to dryness, Matt looking for max impact and power in this unusual pink wine.
A real surprise packet here. A dead serious premium Rosé that will be impossible to put down.Read more about 2018 Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosé
2018 Tonic Wines Rosé
Tantalising release of Rosé this year from the guys at Tonic Wines. Mataro and Grenache have handpicked from two separate vineyards in the Clare Valley.
The wine spent 5 months in old barrels before being sent to this very stylish bottle and sealed with a cork. It's savoury and structured and thirst crushing. A dead serious Rosé tracking more toward Bandol than Provence in style.
It's a modern Australian Rosé for grown-ups.Read more about 2018 Tonic Wines Rosé
