About The Pack
This mixed pack of Australian wines perfectly encapsulates what we do here at Different Drop.
It gives you a look at six artisan winemakers who we think exemplify the modern Australian wine industry.
These are the kind of wines that we drink every day. They are made by some of our closest partner wineries, producers who we believe are at the head of the pack at the moment.
It's brilliant value. Test drive the DD experience with one of these bad boys!
2021 Adelina McLaren Vale Shiraz
Col McBryde at Adelina wanted to make a Shiraz that was a little different to their usual one - a bit more dark and broody, but still keeping the classic Adelina style.
So Col sourced some certified organic fruit from the McLaren Vale, coming from a ripper site in Kangarilla managed by two impeccable growers, Yanagrra's Michael Lane and Pete Fraser. We all know what great fruit and a deft touch equals.
It's got a focus more on dark fruit flavour than their Clare Valley reds, with chewy tannin and a bit more of a broodiness to its personality. Still inherently Adelina in style, it's something a little different - and incredibly delicious.

Cotier is the fun second label of Barney Flanders of Garagiste, that offers him a chance to play around and experiment a little more than usual. And believe us when we say the results are wildly delicious.
This wine, the Serene, is a blend of red and white varieties - Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris - and transforms them into a bottle filled with pure light and juicy playful fun.
Strawberries, red apples, a little bit of spice and tang - it's mouthwatering stuff. Serve it chilled for extra drinking delight.

This is a great new addition to the Mada range from Hamish Young.
This is the red equivalent of the Mada Blanc - it's a wine custom built for versatility and easy drinking. Hamish blends Shiraz, Cabernet and a good whack of Nebbiolo to create this svelte drop. It's ballistically good to drink.
It smells of dried herbs and bright red berries, there's a real 'pop' to the flavour in the mouth.
If you are looking for a red that will find its place at any occasion, bingo - you've found it.

John Hughes is all about showcasing his love for Riesling, and he's passionate about showing off the diversity of the variety. This wine, his No. 11 Mosaik Riesling, is absolutely a wine to behold.
John got a little bit creative and wild with this expression - taking fruit from the Eden Valley, then ageing the wine in seasoned French oak for about a year. The result is magnificent - expect the typical Eden Valley Riesling flavours, like delicate florals, a lip smacking line of acidity, zesty citrus and finishing refreshingly crisp and racy. But the time spent in oak has given it an extra layer of complexity and the addition of a beautiful, mouth-filling, silky texture.
Overdelivering in the value for money department, this is an outrageously delicious and complex wine. Riesling lovers, you can't miss this.

A real cult favourite amongst those who've tracked the Carters from the beginning: the Esoterico is the wild child of the UZ range...
With Brendan and Laura's experience with this style of wine a little richer now, the execution of this skin contact white is on another level.
Supercharged aromatics from the Zibibbo, Moscato Giallo, Gewurztraminer & Greco, with a little boost to the mouthfeel from their old friend Fiano. They've certainly nailed this recipe, and it's no wonder it's become such a cult favourite for fans of this South Australian duo.
Orange in colour and cloudy as all get out, it lives up to its esoteric name but with oodles of drinkability. That's what skinsy whites should all be about.

The ‘R/SM’ is Brash Higgins' single vineyard “field blend” of two of the most underrated white varieties in the country, Riesling and Semillon.
The two varieties are dry grown side by side on a tiny vineyard in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale. They're picked on the same day, basket pressed and co-fermented in old French barriques. These two varieties strike a remarkable balance and harmony.
It's the ultimate summer wine, refreshing and mouth wateringly delightful. It'll keep you coming back for more.
