NV Sami-Odi Little Wine #13

The Sami-Odi 'Little Wine' has developed quite the cult following over the years.

It's a unique wine, comprised of fruit from multiple vintages, with the older vintage portions adding depth and weight, the younger contributing lift and fruit vibrancy. Some parcels are picked early for acidity and drive, some picked much later providing that definitive Barossa richness.

It's an intricately constructed wine, winemaker Fraser McKinley blending multiple barrels to find just the right amount of light and shade.

The finished wine shows so much perfume, so much flavour and so much life - it's a beauty and a completely unique look at the Barossa Valley. The 'Little Wine' has become one of those innovative Australian wines you just need in your cellar. Read More

"It sings from the glass. So bright and refreshing, it feels like one of the more ‘youthful’ or ‘energetic’ Little Wines at release, silky in texture, ultra-perfumed, red and blue berry fruited with woody spices, hazelnut, anise, alpine herbs, green pepper and green olive seamlessly woven through the bouquet and palate. Tannins are very fine, light on, brushed-satin kind of texture, and while there is intensity here, a levity, purity and scintillating freshness. Lots of detail in darker fruit, spice, mineral character, and toasty-woody notes. Utterly delicious, and a bit more raring to go."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

2022 Setiono Flaxman Syrah

The very thoughtful and considered ethos of Samantha Chandra is behind this lovely Syrah from Flaxman Valley in the Barossa region.

Made with fruit entirely from the Naimanya Vineyard with 30+ year old Shiraz vines, it sits at 525 metres above sea level and is thought to be the highest Shiraz site in South Australia!

Two different picks were done, one earlier to get grapes with bright natural acidity and then a later pick for depth of flavour, complexity and tannin.

Aged entirely in older oak, bottled without fining or filtration, the whole package comes together into a beautifully integrated, flavourful Syrah with minimal additions. Elegant stuff, and a great addition the Barossa/Eden Valley wine scene.

Only 143 dozen produced. Read More

"Outstanding, Deep and dark, brooding and yet holding this vivid sense of freshness, blue fruits, pretty spice, herbal lift and saline mineral charm. It elevates on each sip, feeling finer, friskier, lither, as you spend time with the wine... Finesse personified. It nails the brief. It feels of fruit and the depth possible from gentle handling. It’s wine I want to drink."
- Mike Bennie (The Wine Front)

2021 Michael Hall Stone Well Shiraz

Michael Hall is a Shiraz specialist.

With each iteration in his range, he manages to carefully coax the particular nuances of each vineyard into the glass. The Stone Well Shiraz is the more muscular wine in his Shiraz portfolio.

This single vineyard wine showcases the power of Barossa Shiraz without it ever feeling 'too big'. It's Barossa Shiraz with it's hair combed slick and it's boots polished to a high sheen.

Yes, it's a full-bodied Shiraz, but it's delivered with class. An excellent representation of our most famous region - Barossa die-hards, this is for you. Read More

"Deep crimson. Very expressive dark plum, blackberry, mocha aromas with sesame, ginger notes. Voluminous and smooth with superb dark plum, blackberry pastille fruits, fine velvety textures and beautifully integrated mocha, toffee oak. Finished chocolaty with attractive mineral length. Lovely fruit definition, oak complexity and structure."
- Andrew Caillard MW (The Vintage Journal Barossa Guide 2023)

2022 Agricola Kalimna Sands Shiraz

A new vineyard into the Agricola solar system this year, with the 'Ancient' Asbroek vines planted over a century and a half ago in the sands of Kalimna finding their way into the deft hands of Callum Powell.

Each of these stunning expressions of Barossa Shiraz from Powell come with a distinct accent. In the case of this cuvee, that accent is deep and throaty. It's enriching, warming Barossa Shiraz with balance kept square in the cross hairs.

Dark fruit, oceans of tannin and tremendous depth of flavour, this is a bold but beautiful look at the history of the Barossa as seen through the eyes of the next generation. Read More

"A beautiful Northern Barossa wine."

2021 Spinifex La Maline

Peter Schell is regarded as one of the most influential winemakers in the recent renaissance of the Barossa Valley. Pete paved the way for a new breed of Barossa winemakers with stunning wines like this: his flagship wine, La Maline.

Made in only tiny quantities, La Maline is a more elegant side of Barossa Shiraz. Peter Schell does a barrel selection for this wine, from two parcels in the High-Eden subregion of the Eden Valley. With the deft touch we have come to expect from this producer, the fruit undergoes a wild ferment in large format oak (about 40% new) and sees a healthy dose of whole bunches and a small amount of Viognier for aromatic lift.

It is a pleasure to drink this wine. Finesse and intricacy combine effortlessly with the brooding power of the region. All in all, a beautiful wine. Read More

2021 Head Wines The Blonde Shiraz

The Blonde has become something of a Barossa Valley staple for those seeking the next wave of premium Barossa Shiraz for their cellar.

The Blonde is the more seductive and elegant of the Head Shiraz as a younger wine, but she's no slouch in the cellar. The concentrated flavours of dark berries, earthiness and spice are backed up by structural tannin, coming together to form a beautifully controlled & detailed wine.

A classic release of this much loved Shiraz from Alex. Read More

We want Different Drop customers to always be getting the best price. If you see a lower price elsewhere, just get in touch and we will sort it out for you. We handle all our price-matching on a case by case basis.

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Retrospective price-matching is available for 30 days after you have purchased from us.
  • The price match cannot be used in conjunction with a coupon or one-off deal we are offering. The idea is for you to get the best price in the market so if that is already achieved through a coupon then we won't price match on top of that.
  • We don't price match clearance or fire sales.
  • We’ll match the listed price as long as it is a legitimate offer and the competing store is actually able to fulfil the order (they have stock or more stock is en route). Essentially we won't price match cheeky vendors listing wines they have no hope of actually getting for you...
  • It must be a publicly listed price. We won't match a price that has been achieved through a coupon/cash-back arrangement, or through a non-advertised offer over the phone or otherwise.
  • It is limited to a reasonable retail quantity.

We'll treat each price match request on its merit and reserve the right to refuse where we deem fit. For example, particularly rare wines, from non-trust-worthy vendors, in circumstances we deem illegitimate or if we feel our policy is being unfairly taken advantage of.

At the end of the day, we'll look after you and use common sense to ensure you're getting the best price, please just don't take the p%$$!

No, feel free to mix it up! There is no minimum requirement. You can order wines in any quantity or combination, 1 or 50+ bottles.

We stock three different sized gift boxes (single, three bottle and six), all are available for purchase for a flat rate of $8. They look great and make an awesome impression.

To add a gift box to your order, simply add at checkout. The special requests box is your friend, please give us as many details of what you are looking for and we will try our best, or get in contact to discuss it with you.

If you want to bulk order gifts or if you have any trouble please email or call and we can try and help.

If you can't add more wine to your cart it means we are low on stock of that wine. For example, if you are only able to 3 bottles and no more that means we only have 3 bottles left of that wine. If it's a must have, please contact us and we may be able to order more in for you.
