It comes from a high-performing old site up in Pipers River, planted back in the late ’90s by Andrew Pirie. Jim’s worked with this fruit for years now and really knows how to let it shine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" data-end=\"664\" data-start=\"321\"\u003e2025 was a dry, early vintage in Tassie (one of the earliest in some years), and it’s given this wine a little more weight than usual, while still keeping all the lift and finesse that Bird’s known for. It’s all about purity – red fruits, spice, fine structure. Wild fermented, matured in large old oak, and handled gently the whole way through, fruit purity is at a maximum here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"\" data-end=\"831\" data-start=\"666\"\u003eThis is what Chatto calls his “gateway” Pinot - and sure, it’s the lightest in the lineup, but it’s still got plenty to say.
