The warmer 2023 season was a gift for a non-traditional field blend like this, helping fully ripen the typically stubborn tannins of Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Nebbiolo while locking in brilliant perfume and natural drive.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo manage the different picking times of the 40% Syrah, 40% Petit Verdot, and 20% Nebbiolo mix, Large split the harvest into two co-ferments. The early-picked Syrah and Nebbiolo saw 20% whole bunch for freshness, while the Petit Verdot and late Nebbiolo brought dark, savoury muscle. After 14 months in seasoned barriques, just 90 dozen bottles were produced.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt drinks with impressive energy, balancing tart red currant and crushed violets against a backdrop of dried tobacco leaf and leather. The tannins are firm and structured, but there's enough juicy fruit here to make it exceptionally drinkable right now.
