First bottled as a single-vineyard wine in 1952, it is one of the longest consecutively produced wines of its kind in the country. These centenarian, ungrafted vines were planted in 1912 on ancient, 500-million-year-old geology, and today the site is farmed  biodynamically.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2022 vintage was a classic \"slow burner.\" A cool start and a late harvest produced a wine of immense elegance and distinction, drawing comparisons to the great 2010 and 2015 vintages. It is an almost complete, beautifully balanced Shiraz that opens with black fruit, wild herbs, and liquorice.
