..a charming, red fruited Pinot of perfume, delicacy, and gentle spice.

About The Wine
Fresh, vigorous Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, the second release from Natillie Johnston, as a side project from her main role as assistant winemaker at Giant Steps.
Only the lightest red in colour, with pretty floral aromatics and a zippy palate, this is thirst quenching Pinot that could take a small chill in warmer weather but is definitely not a simple park wine.
About 10-15% whole bunch and small percentage of new french oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
About Tillie J Wines
Tillie J is Natallie Johnston, winemaking vagabond who first did vintage at Coldstream Hills in 2012 and returned to the Yarra to take on a full-time role at Giant Steps, with stops in the US, Germany and NZ in between.
Her sole current focus is one wine, one variety, one vineyard, a small corner of a Yarraloch vineyard in the Gruyere sub-region of the Yarra. She is working the wine, first released to acclaim in 2019, from grape to glass, controlling all aspects of viticulture and winemaking. Minimalism is key, with no fining or filtration and only a small amount of sulphur usage.
As stated in the Halliday Wine Companion.. "Mark my words. Tillie Johnston is going to become a great winemaker."
