About The Wine
Jason and Anna Flowerday farm their small Marlborough vineyard in accordance with the principals of organics and biodynamics. With a name like 'Flowerday', it's not like they ever really had a choice.
Their little part of Marlborough is a Garden of Eden where wild flowers grow and vines thrive.
Toru (Maori for 'Three') is a blend of Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris.
This is a super-aromatic, super-versatile white wine that can go with anything from a light salad to a piece of fresh Ocean Trout.
Cool and crisp yet full of flavour, this is top value from this much-loved boutique Marlborough producer.
About Te Whare Ra
Te Whare Ra - commonly referred to as TWR - is a small vineyard and winery located in the Marlborough sub-region of Renwick. The 11Ha vineyard was first planted in 1979 and since 2003 has been owned by winemakers Anna and Jason Flowerday. Low yields and a commitment to organic and biodynamic practices - TWR is genuine artisanal winemaking in a region more famous for large commercial production.
Their aromatic whites - Riesling, Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Gewurz - have carved out their reputation, but Pinot Noir and Syrah might outshine them all in the long run.
To show off at the dinner table, remember that the 'WH' is pronounced as an 'F'!

From The Producer
Toru (which means “three” in Maori) is an aromatic blend we first created in 2006 and has now become one of our flagship wines. Toru was the first of its kind in New Zealand - it is a delicious, co-fermented "field blend" of three varieties - Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris. We are passionate about these classic Alsatian varieties and we spent a great deal of time coming up with the right proportions in the blend. It has the aromatic spice and fleshiness of Gewurztraminer, the line and length of Riesling, and the great texture of Pinot Gris.
All fruit for this wine was hand-picked and then hand-sorted. All parcels were destemmed, lightly crushed and then pressed, some parcels had lengthier skin-contact time. The wine was all co-fermented. Co-fermentation is an integral part of making Toru, as it makes the three varieties much more integrated with each other. This wine has not been fined and is suitable for vegetarians, vegans and anyone who loves authentic, handmade wines.

Warehouse Pickupis available from our Sydney warehouse in Ultimo, 2007. Just select Local Pickup at checkout. We are open 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 02 8376 8775 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.
Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
