Pure feeling even with the exotic, savoury, herbal, sour-sweet notes.

About The Wine
Making skin-contact wines from Chardonnay is a tricky business. Much of time, the wines come out a little flabby. That's not the case here, though.
Piccadilly is home to some of the best Chardonnay in the Adelaide Hills. This cooler pocket of the region produces Chardonnay that is complex yet fine, making for a great base for an amber wine.
This is dark, golden, full-flavoured and savoury. It's a fascinating take on Chardonnay from this premium sub-region.
About Poppelvej
Poppelvej (pronounced 'Pop-ell-veye') is a pint-sized winery based in McLaren Vale started by young Danish sommelier-turned-winemaker, Uffe Deichmann with the help of his brother Jens.
The name Poppelvej translates to "the street of the poplar trees", a homage to the family home property of the same name.
Uffe now has a small, ramshackle winery dug into in the side of a hill in McLaren Vale. He produces tiny amounts of wine with a minimal intervention philosophy.
Low amounts of sulphur (but always some) are used, the ferments are all wild. Massive black concrete eggs and an array of oak vessels in varying sizes are used as fermenters. It's a small but love-filled operation he is running.
