About the Wine
With a name like "Chateau Acid", it's a certain bet that the guys behind it, Charlie O'Brien and Simon Jones, are fans of fresh and zippy wines with plenty of zing on your palate. They like to pick their fruit early so as to maximise the acidity, while still allowing for loads of flavour. Fruit is sourced from the Ricca Terra vineyards in the Riverland region.
With vibrant aromas and flavours of citrus, floral notes, some spice, and green apple, as well as a light mousse, this is an exquisitely refreshing wine made for pure enjoyment. Coming in at 11.4% ABV, they don't pack a huge alcoholic punch, so you could easily get through a bottle on a warm summer or autumn evening with friends.
About Chateau Acid
Long time friends Charlie O’Brien and Simon Jones kicked off Chateau Acid in 2017, looking to create a fun, yet serious wine label - the name is a playful link between the acidity required for good wine and the underground wine scene of the 80s and 90s.
Fruit for their wines is sourced from the legendary organic and biodynamic vineyards at Rosnay Estate in Canowindra in the Central Ranges of NSW, and there are never any winemaking additions including sulphur.
Look out for beautiful Chardonnay, Vermentino and some delicious reds and rose.
