It’s a very serious riesling, and delicious.

About The Wine
The Lyons Will Riesling is a opulent example of the variety built around luscious mouthfeel as opposed to the sheer racy acidity that characterises so many younger Australian Rieslings.
The long, cool growing season in the Macedon Ranges allows the intensity of flavour to develop in the fruit before over-ripe sugars become an issue for Ollie and Renata. The benefit of these marginal climates clearly show in this unique interpretation of the variety.
This is raised in old barrels adding another level of depth and textural intrigue to the finished. The fine, mineral-charged acidity still rings clear, but it's complimented by sheets of honeyed flavour and a fine powdery grip.
A delicious, decadent Riesling on offer here from one of the Macedon's most exciting operations.
About Lyons Will
Lyons Will is one of the hidden gems of the Macedon Ranges.
This stunning 4ha vineyard was originally planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1996 by Bob and Barabara Farawell and has really blossomed since being purchased by husband and wife Oliver Rapson and Renata Morello.
Oli is a viticulturalist and saw the potential for this beautiful site. In 2013 they planted a small amount of Gamay and Riesling on the property which are thriving, as well as extending their plantings of Pinot Noir.
It's a small family operation. Oli and Renata craft the wines together, everything is done by hand with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Their first releases are electric. Lyons Will is one of the most exciting new projects to emerge from the Macedon Ranges in the last decade.
