About The Wine
If you're looking for a rich and hearty Shiraz to sniff, swirl and contemplate, you might want to keep on moving. But if you're hunting for a juicy red to throw in the esky and take to the beach, then this is just the ticket.
The Gymkata is made from Shiraz picked nice and early from a single vineyard in Killmore, Victoria.
Made with low levels of intervention but high levels of care, this bright and bouncy red wine is begging for a chill. It's flecked with pepper and herb notes, sits light a crisp in the mouth. A new school version of the good old Shiraz grape.
It's a red wine built for a good time, not a long time.
About Konpira Maru
Konpira Maru is the story of Alistair Reed and Sam Cook coming together from various parts of the wine industry to start their own creative outlet for making fascinating, minimum intervention wines. Their first release, a mere 600 bottles, was in 2014.
Their success, particularly with wonderful Pet Nats has allowed them to expand their horizons. They source fruit from growers in central Victoria and the South Burnett and Granite Belt regions in Queensland. And from 2016 they have been organically farming their own Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris in Whitlands, high above the King Valley.
