About the Wine
The Giuseppe Campagnola Bardolino Novello is one of the freshest and fruitiest Italian red wines you will find. Made from the same grapes you see in a Valpolicella blend, the wine shows bright red fruits on the nose and palate and high acidity, giving it an aroma, taste and feel very much reminiscent of a Beaujolais Nouveau, which are made to be light and fruity and quaffed, rather than mulled over. With some notes of herbs and a slightly bitter aftertaste, there is also some depth to the wine. This is a wine that's ideal for consumption with pasta dishes, pizza, cheese, or any other light meals.
About Campagnola
Now into its fifth generation of winemakers, Campagnola definitely has its heart and roots based in Valpolicella. Founded by Carlo Campagnola in 1907, the business is now helmed by siblings Giuseppe, Antonella and Monica Campagnola, alongside Giuseppe's sons Paolo, a winemaker, and Andrea, the business manager.
Unsurprisingly, Amarone della Valpolicella is Campagnola's main focus (and best wine), as well as Valpolicella, Recioto, Ripasso, Soave, and Pinot Grigio. As well as their estate vineyards, Campagnola sources fruit from over 50 growers around Marano di Valpolicella, from which they produce over 30 wines.
