About The Wine
Sam Coverdale has a way with Pinot Gris.
Where his Polperro Pinot Gris is all about full-noise flesh and texture with a serious oak influence, this example is more about fruit purity, though there's certainly a serious amount of mouth feel that comes along for the ride.
Sam allows this to go through full malo and spend a few months on full lees to build creaminess and weight into the wine.
But the freshness to the finish is absolutely delicious. A Gris with plenty of interest for lovers of the variety.
About Polperro
Sam Coverdale is living his dream. Farming a little patch of Mornington Peninsula and making wines that he loves to drink.
"We believe that great wines have character and balance, and that they are grown on the vine." he says, hence his move toward organic farming principals.
The more care he has taken in the vineyard, the better the wines have become. The proof really is in the pudding.
