Beautifully made. Classic Pinot Noir.

About the Wine
Can Bubb + Pooley make a top notch Pinot Noir? You better believe it. With their combined knowledge and experience, this was always going to an absolute scorcher of a wine. Made from two separate parcels, one 100% whole bunches and the other 20%, and matured in a mix of large concrete vat and oak.
There is a lot to unpack with this wine. Of all the wines in the new line up, this is the one which will reward decanting and some time to open up. Let it unfurl its wings and you'll find a gorgeously balanced wine - it smells like walking through a forest in daylight, with soft berries, leaf litter, woody spices and earthy savouriness. The palate is impeccable, with finely tuned, gentle acid, making this as food friendly as it is drinkable.
Stunning. Just stunning.
About Bubb + Pooley
You may know of Bubb and Pooley from their day jobs. Justin Bubb is the winemaker of Babo, a label which focuses on Italian wines and Anna Pooley is the winemaker at Pooley, one of Tasmania's iconic producers, and where Justin also lends more than a hand...They are also husband and wife. Somehow, they found some spare time to create a label where they could work together - Bubb + Pooley.
The pair use traditional methods which are 'mostly hands off' to allow fruit and site to clearly express themselves. Concrete vessels are commonplace here - oak can too heavily impact the fruit. With access to exceptional sites, this is a chance for them to make sustainable wine which speak of terroir and vintage. Pristine is the word - pristine fruit, pristine vinification and pristine wines. This is such a welcome addition to the landscape of Australian wine.
