About This Wine
This single-vineyard Riesling from the Watervale sub-region of the Clare Valley, is the prestige release from Atlas. Produced from an exceptional site, this wine is certainly following its own path.
Quite clear in the glass, yet don’t let that deceive you. As it opens up the aromas and flavours unfurl before you, lovely sweet citrus character alongside a honeyed note provide a full-flavour experience. The texture is chalky, and chewy with great weight.
Very expressive right now, however, like all good Clare Riesling, there’s lots of cellar potential. Quite the steal for under $30, if you ask us.
About Atlas Wines
Inspired into the wine game by the taste of a 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy, winemaker Adam Barton’s path took him around Australia, and the globe, on his journey to the Clare Valley.
Alongside partner Amy Lane, a South Australian native, they founded Atlas wines in 2007, purchasing their first vineyard on the eastern slopes of the Clare.
With a great respect for the unique characters of the sites they work with, Adam and Amy aim to showcase the unique terroir of their grapes through their wines.
