About The Wine
Rose wines are usually made in one of three ways: Maceration, where the juice is left in contact with the skins, extracting some colour; Saignee, where a portion of juice is removed from a vat which will eventually ferment to make a red wine, with the removed juice then fermented like a white wine; and Blending, where a red and white wine are blended together.
The Alpha Box & Dice Tarot Rose is made by blending Cabernet Sauvignon skins (left over from a red-wine ferment) and Chardonnay juice, quite an unconventional method for making a rose. Yet the result is a lovely wine with delicate fruit, spice and floral flavours and immense approachability.

Alpha Box & Dice is a McLaren Vale-based operation, focussing on celebrating the diversity of wine styles and varieties coming out of South Australia.
Head winemaker Sam Berketa has worked in famed wine regions across the globe, from Barolo to Monterey, and he brings his years of knowledge and experience to every wine created at Alpha Box & Dice.
Championing the Mediterranean varieties, the end results are wines filled with innovation, supreme drinkability and pure expressions of the vineyards the fruits hail from.

From the Producer
Machine picked in the cool of night, pressed first thing in the morning and fermented to dry in tank using a neutral yeast. No Malolactic fermentation. 600L was then Ripasso'd over pressed off Cabernet Sauvignon skins and left for 3 weeks to pick up colour and texture.

Warehouse Pickupis available from our Sydney warehouse in Ultimo, 2007. Just select Local Pickup at checkout. We are open 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 02 8376 8775 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.
Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
