About the Wine
The Weinbach Cuvee Colette Riesling is, by all reckoning, one of the best Rieslings in Alsace. It presents beautiful aromas of white stone fruits, zesty citrus, and even tropical fruits, thanks to the hot growing season. The palate shows good structure and rich flavours of citrus and stone and tropical fruits.
Despite the hot weather, the acidity level remained high, giving the Riesling a nice energy, which matches swimmingly with the full-bodied texture of the wine. With a few more years in bottle, the Colette Riesling will develop a lovely smokiness and pleasant tones of kerosene. In the meantime, pair it with any dish featuring seafood or white meat.
About Domaine Weinbach
Domaine Weinbach is an icon of the Alsace wine region, a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture and winemaking, and producer of some of the world's greatest aromatic wines.
Located the foot of the majestic Schlossberg hill, Domaine Weinbach is a “stream of wine”, named after the small waterway that traverses the property, and dates back all the way to 1612 when it was established by Capuchin monks.
The Faller family farms 27 hectares of vineyards, much of which is Grand Cru. The fame may go to the imposing Schlossberg GC but equal renown should be extended to the walled Clos de Capucins that surrounds the winery and the Furstentum GC, celebrated for exceptional Gewurztraminer.
Viticulture has been organic for many years but a conversion to biodynamics culminated in certification for the 2006 vintage onwards.

TERROIR:
Vines (over 40 years) are located at the base of the Grand Cru Schlossberg hill. On a floor of granite rocks, the soils are brown, slightly acidic, pebbly, excellent mineral fertility, shallow depth at the top of the slope, and deeper at the bottom. The Schlossberg’s steep, south-facing slopes ensure exposure to optimal sunshine. The soils are very well-drained and warm up very rapidly. The Schlossberg is particularly favorable for Riesling (which is a late-maturing grape and needs as much sunshine as it can get), producing here a very pure expression of the grape, with remarkable finesse and elegance.
FARMING: Organic and Biodynamic (certified by Ecocert & Demeter) Short pruning of the vines to keep yields low.
PICKING: Hand-picked at optimum maturity to reinforce the aromatic expression and body of the wines.
WINEMAKING: Gently pressed in whole clusters in pneumatic presses, fermentation with indigenous yeasts (element of the terroir, enhances depth and complexity in the wines) in old oak vats.
TASTING NOTES:
It opens with the aromas of white flowers and tropical fruits, and citrus fruit zest. The palate is well structured and dense with a vibrant acidity which leads to a long-lasting finish.

Do I have to order in dozens? No, please mix it up! You can order wines in any quantity and variation you like. You can order 1 bottle or 50. We challenge you to make the ultimate mixed pack of wine!
Are there volume discounts? No, our pricing is designed to be the best in market already - no marking up and then discounting down! For very large orders (weddings, etc) we are open to negotiating though. Just give us a call.
Do we price match? Yes, within reason. Everyday low & consistent pricing is something we strongly believe in. We want our customers to feel confident they are always getting the best price. If you see a price lower somewhere else let us know and we'll consider matching it. We'll even retrospectively issue you store credit if you have already purchased from us but you see a lower price somewhere later on. Our price match policy can be seen here.
Can coupons and discounts be stacked? No, only one discount or coupon can be applied to an order at once.
I am trying to add more of a wine to my cart but it won’t let me? This means we are running low on stock of that wine. So for example, if the website will only allow you to add 3 bottles and no more, then that is all we have of that particular wine. The good news is we may be able to order more for you. Just contact us on 02 8376 8775 or hello@differentdrop.com and we'll organise the additional quantity for you.
Does Different Drop have a physical store? No. Just an a warehouse/office. We occasionally do events however, so sign up to our newsletter or follow us on instagram to stay in the loop.
Can I special order a wine you do not sell? If it’s doable, then we’ll make it happen. Just contact us directly via phone, chat or email and we’ll find out for you right away. Please note that in most cases special orders such as these will need to be in full case lots (6 or 12 bottles).
