Any way you come at this you see quality... Taut, long, luxurious. Beautiful pinot.

About the Wine
The Stefano Lubiana Sasso Pinot Noir shows ripe and vibrant aromas and flavours of cherry and raspberry, as well as some earthy characters that give the wine some depth. As expected from a Pinot Noir of this quality, the tannins are soft and silky. A truly beautiful Tasmanian Pinot Noir.
The fruit for the Stefano Lubiana Sasso Pinot Noir comes from three blocks within their vineyard, described by Steve and Monique Lubiana as "unique". Whole bunches of grapes are stomped by foot and then fermented in vats with wild yeasts. The decision as to which of the three to five barrels will make up the Sasso depends on their ability "to produce a mid-weight wine with soft, savoury tannins and well-balanced acidity".
About Stefano Lubiana
Steve and Monique Lubiana were pioneers of biodynamic farming in Tasmania.
Their gorgeous estate was the first to adopt the principals of biodynamics in 2008. Since then the quality of the Stefano Lubiana premium range has soared. The wines are immaculate: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sparklings all packed with flavour intensity and perfect balance.
As Mike Bennie observed, "Geez, there’s been some wind in the sail on their estate in southern Tasmania. This is top notch stuff right here."
Steve, a fifth-generation winemaker, is now one of Tasmania's leading producers, no doubt about it.
