About This Wine
Very much made to style, this Marlborough Pinot Gris will deliver exactly what you expect it will, with great values for money appeal.
Textural and lively, this wine is full of ripe fruit character, balanced by the cool natural acidity that the South Island of NZ imparts to its wines. Fresh rock melon, pear, apple hazelnut and honeyed floral notes drive the flavour palate (textbook style), white the texture has a nice weight to it as well, balanced out by that fresh acidity.
While technically off-dry, the balance with this wine is picture perfect, weight, flavour profile, and price, this wine nails them all on the head.
About Soho
Rachael Carter founded Soho Wines in 2008, using grapes from her father's vineyards in Marlborough and Waiheke Island. The intention from the beginning was to create premium wines that could be enjoyed by anyone. They now also source grapes from vineyards in the Gibbston, Bendigo and Bannockburn areas of Central Otago region on the South Island. Wines are made by Dave Clouston in Marlborough, James Rowan on Waiheke Island, and Grant Taylor in Central Otago.
Soho Wines currently makes a broad selection of wines across three labels (Black, Pink Sheep, and White), from Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah. Proceeds from sales of their Pink Sheep collection go to charities focusing on mental health, children, animals, and the environment.
