About The Wine
YES! Bring on more of these Summery red wines from the Barossa!
Not everything from the region needs to be big and boozy, Brossa reds can also be frisky and fun. Just ask Wayne Aherns.
Cinsault, with its huge berries and high juice content makes it perfect for these lighter styled reds. The less skin there is in comparison to the juice content, the less heavy duty the wine. That's exactly what Wayne has taken advantage of here.
This is playful but not simple, there is still plenty of tannin and complexity, albeit in a more featherweight framework.
About Smallfry
Smallfry has been one of the secret weapons of some of the Barossa's most iconic producers for years.
The amazing array of varieties that they grow on their ancient organic and biodynamic vineyards have been coveted by the likes of Peter Schell, Taras Ochota and more recently Steve Crawford of Frederick Stevenson.
Over the last few years, owners and viticulturists Wayne Aherns and Suzi Hilder have gotten the winemaking bug and ventured out on their own. Their wines are some of the more refreshing and original styles of vino you are likely to find in this historic region.
Explore their range with an open mind, this is Barossa 2.0!
