About This Wine
Gamay from Savoie is a bit different in style to the majority of French Gamay we see here in Oz. A bit more crunch, aromatics, and succulence than Beaujolais it seems.
Not better or worse, just a little different, like twins separated at birth and raised in different cultures.
With pretty fruit aromatics reminiscent of strawberries and raspberries, there is also a deeper animale character on the palate as well, wild and untamed, this is an intriguing and seductive offering.
About Quenard
Quenard is a family estate in Savoie founded in 1976 - Andre and Michel Quenard are part of a lineage of winemakers dating back to the 17th century.
With their vineyards on the hillside of Tormery adorning the rocky mountain of Chignin, they produce a range of white, red and rose wines that are original and unique.
Farming by the 'lutte raisonnee' philosophy (intervention only when needed), they limit their yields, while harvesting manually and utilising traditional vinification methods.
