An elegant wine with an appealing supple, fine-grained texture.

About The Wine
What a lovely elegant expression of NZ Pinot from Novum, the new(ish) guys on the Marlborough block.
Will and Rachel, the Novum winemaking duo, have selected parcels from two cool vineyard sites in the Southern Valleys to create a linear, refined wine that has great deftness and length.
The nose is all bright cherry and pomegranate, with a hint of earthiness. In the mouth there is a pure line of supple fruit with a savoury edge. We're guessing some truffly, autumnal flavours will develop with time - can't wait to try this in a few years.
A Marlborough Pinot of delicate class.
About Novum Wines
Novum is a new wine producer, as the name might indicate to wine-drinking latin scholars. They are husband and wife team Will Hoare and Rachel Jackson Hoare, who have taken their Marlborough winemaking experience and already created an adoring fan-base for their pure, driven expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We are now part of the fan-base!
Will started as a cellar hand and finished as General Manager and winemaker at Fromm Vineyards in Marlborough. Rachel also worked at Fromm but not before vintages at Domaine Drouhin in Oregon and Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault, as well as Cloudy Bay.
With their extensive knowledge of Marlborough vineyards, Will and Rachel source fruit from around the region and have planted a home block with an eye to the future.
