About This Wine
From a minuscule ½ ha plot of vines grown on gravelly soil in Anjou, this organic Chenin Blanc is a bright, light expression of the Loire Valley's greatest grape.
Chenin is such a wonderfully expressive variety, and this wine is just one expression of a broad spectrum of styles. Tart apples, barely ripe tropical fruit, lots of fresh citrus, there is energy, tension, and real sense of purity here.
Zesty and full of life, there is so much fragrant goodness with this wine, if it wasn’t for RSA rules, we’d call this a guzzler.
About Frederic Mabileau
Inspired by the achievements of his father, Frédéric Mabileau started his personal label in 1988 when he planted his first vines on his wife Nathalie's property known as 'Rouillères'.
Frédéric's family history in winemaking and viticulture harks back to 1620, but with Nathalie by his side, he set out to forge his own reputation. Today his wines are considered benchmarks of quality for the Loire. Organically farmed and crafted with a light touch in the winery, these are wonderfully expressive Cabernet Francs and Chenin Blancs that are utterly compelling to drink.
