About the Wine
This is Valpolicella in its brightest and lightest form - full of cherry and raspberry flavours, a touch of amaro and smidge of Italian herbs.
The local grapes Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Molinara are the delicious ingredients in this perfect lunchtime red - it sits around 12.5% alcohol and has a graceful easy of drinking.
Among the Italian red heavyweights of Barolo, Chianti and Amarone, succulent Valpolicella reds are such a bargain, and Le Salette has crafted a beauty.
About Le Salette
Under the sanctuary of Le Salette, built in 1860 as a votive offering to Madonna when she freed their vineyards from the scourge of phylloxera, the vineyards have always been the property of the Scamperle family, one of Valpolicella’s historic names, who proudly produce the wines of Le Salette.
It's a classic story, which tells about decades of farming and love for the land, and, above all, a passion for making wine. For generations the Scamperle family has dedicated itself to growing grapes, and to gradually increasing the number of vines. The vineyards have grown slowly and carefully, always respecting the local tradition, which is sensitive to nature and follows its rhythm to bring out the originality and characteristics of the grapes.
Le Salette have never stopped developing their product, basing their quest, on patient research, with quality always at their core. Today, the family owns twenty cultivated hectares situated across the Valpolicella Classica DOC.
