About This Wine
The wines of L’Anglore sit at the pantheon of cult wines from Europe. Lithe, fine boned, yet so powerful that their presence is enough to make even the most seasoned sommelier swoon .
Traverses is a fresh, pure and seriously accessible wine. Loads of crunchy fruit, and uber finesse, in a as always light frame. Earth and spice, florals and fruit, it’s a potpourri of flavours, that sing and dance joyously in your mouth.
It feels as though it wouldn’t be an unreasonable thing, to just base your wine calendar around the twice yearly releases of the L’Anglore wines, so mesmerizing they are.
About Domaine de L'Anglore
Domaine de L'Anglore was founded by Eric Pfifferling in 1988 from 7 ha of ancient vines near the village of Tavel, in the Southern Rhône. Comprised of mostly Grenache and Mourvèdre, the vineyards are farmed organically and Eric employs natural winemaking techniques with the utmost attention to detail and hygiene. The resulting wines are squeaky clean expressions of terroir.
Tavel is perhaps best known for its rosé and, like all regions, Tavel AOC provide its fair share of hoops to jump through. Pfifferling works tirelessly to craft the best reds, whites, and rosés his vines can offer and, in doing so, finds they sometimes fall outside the regulations. As such, it is not unusual to see L’Anglore wines labelled Vin De France.
Eric Pfifferling is a passionate vigneron who is, in no small part, responsible for the movement against industrialisation in the Southern Rhone that we enjoy today, he is revered and considered a genius by his peers. When you taste his wines its easy to appreciate why.
