About the Wine
Timorasso is an ancient wine grape found predominantly in the Italian region of Piemonte. In recent years, an increasing number of wineries have shown interest in it, and wine drinkers outside of Italy can now enjoy it more easily.
La Spinetta has been making a varietal Timorasso since 2019, sourced from the DOC area of Colli Tortonesi, which is mostly known for the red grape Barbera. The vineyards are situated near the villages of Montemarzino, Montegioco and Monleale, south of Milan.
The La Spinetta Timorasso is an elegant wine with great minerality, supported by firm acidity and citrus and floral aromas. Enjoy it by itself or with a range of salty foods.
About La Spinetta
Founded in 1977 and now run by the 2nd generation Giorgio Rivetti, La Spinetta, unlike many traditional estates was not handed down through the generation, rather it was a slow and thoughtful expansion based on a considered approach to finding the best sites to produce wines.
All their vineyards have a south, south-east or south-west exposure maximising summer sunshine, while also having some age to them.
Giorgio takes a modern approach in the winery, while at the same focusing on traditional vineyard management; year-round care, low yields, and absolutely no chemical inputs.
