About The Wine
Like so many of the Huet sweet wines this Chenin is astonishing in its purity. Far from being a hedonistic glass reserved only for dessert, this is racy, delicate, and detailed Chenin that whilst evidently sweet is driven by minerality and acid.
It will work wonderfully with a vast spectrum of dishes, both savoury and sweet. Right now, it’s a tightly coiled bundle of energy for the purists, in ten, twenty or even thirty years it will be a complex, savoury offering with much of the sweetness being replaced by earthiness. Hooray for Vouvray.
About Domaine Huet
Founded in 1928 Domaine Huet is the icon producer of Vouvray, on the northern bank of the mighty Loire River. Across their three famous vineyard sites, Le Mont, Le Haut Lieu and Clos du Bourg they make wines of great concentration and longevity, realising the inner brilliance of Chenin Blanc.
One of the earliest adherents of biodynamic viticulture and winemaking, Huet was a low-intervention producer before the term was ever known, with no additions save for minimal sulphur.
