About The Wine
James Hamilton is making colourful, energetic wines that are on point with the drinking zeitgeist of Australia.
He's keeping it simple. Fruit grown right, the wines made with very little tinkering or adjustments. And importantly, the wines are built for drinking in their youth.
This is just the kind of warm-weather red that we should be drinking more of these days. It's Pinot Noir picked early, fermented as whole bunches, dialled in to a light, nervy, thirst-quenching style.
Looking for a red for the warmer seasons? This Manic Monday is just what you're after.
About Golden Child
Golden Child is the project of father-and-son team, David and James Hamilton. David grows the grapes from his own vineyard in Kuitpo in the southern Adelaide Hills, while son James uses his wealth of winemaking experience to bring the wines to bottle.
Having their own 20+-year-old vineyard gives the Hamiltons enormous flexibility with the wines and allows James to craft some pretty unique offerings. The fruit is all hand-picked, fermented with natural yeasts and crafted together gently and with minimum additions.
The range is wide, colourful and wholly enjoyable - this is a new Hills producer to keep an eye on.
