About the Wine
This wine from Girlan proves that these varieties make one delicious threesome. They blend Pinot Noir with two grape varieties native to Alto Adige, Lagrein and Schiava, with results that will have you going back for more.
Aromatic and earthy, each variety works with one another to create a juicy, red-fruited bottle of goodness.
With or without food, it's easy to drink in abundance.
About Girlan
Based in the south Tyrol region of Italy, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Austrian territory when visiting Girlan. High up in these isolated mountains, the region has forged its own unique identity, quite distinct from the rest of Italy.
Girlan is a wine co-operative, with over 200 winegrower members. They one of the region’s finest ‘grower collectives’ producing exemplary Alto Adige wines.
They have long encouraged their growers to focus on those varieties that best suit their soils, aspects and altitudes and have long been the benchmark for single0vineyard, and single varietal wines in the region.
Since cellarmaster Gehard Kofler arrived in 2006, Girlan has truly established themselves as one of the leading producers in the region.
