About the Wine
The Notios White from Gaia is a stunning blend of three of the finest grapes for white wine in Greece - Moschofilero, Roditis and Assyrtiko.
When these three varieties join forces, it's the ultimate trio. Moschofilero brings the boldness, Roditis brings the acidity and Assyrtiko brings strength, depth and backbone with some lovely floral and citrussy notes.
They all work in unison with one another to craft a classy drinking experience. It's a must try if you're looking for something a bit exotic that won't break the bank.
Gaia Wines was founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, and Leon Karatsalos both of whom had gained their education and experience in France and Austria.
They are a great example of the globalised nature of the wine industry, traveling and of gaining knowledge and experience. With Greece home to a truly ancient society, that traversed the known world, these modern winemakers share that same sense of intellectual curiosity.
With vineyards and wineries in 2 distinct regions; Santorini and Nemea, Yiannis and Leon aim for the perfect harmony between terroir and climate in the production of their indigenous varietal wines; Assyritiko, and Agiorgitiko.
To them, these are the varietals that are Greece, and drive their mission to explore the boundaries of these grapes, making them well-known across the globe.
