About the Wine
Little known Savoyard white variety Jacquere makes up this low alcohol, alpine thirst-quencher. We’d almost call this a breakfast wine at only around 10% abv! Picked early and by hand, again this is all about youthful freshness. Natural yeasts, lees stirring and stainless steel.
Domaine Giachino began conversion to organic and biodynamic farming back in 2006 - the thinking being that by being closer to the natural cycles of the vineyard he could in turn produce more delicate and sensitive wines.
Crunchy, floral, classy and refreshing, this is a really gorgeous wine.
About Domaine Giachino
Located in the stunning and remarkable high-altitude Savoie region in Eastern France, Domaine Giachino is helmed by winemaker Frederic Giachino. Coming from a long line of agriculturalists Frederic took charge of the family’s small vineyard holding in 1988.
Since then he has expanded the area under vine, planted it to a host of existing Savoyard varieties (most of them you have probably never heard of!) and been producing wines since the late 1990s.
Frederic is now producing an energetic and precise suite of wines from this remarkable and otherworldly terroir that is rich with limestone and clay. An unbelievable place with wines to match!
