About the Wine
The Domaine des Notes Bleues Les Nouvelles Chardonnay comes from an 80-year-old vineyard farmed biodynamically by the illustrious Stephane Tissot, before Cedric Mottet took it over.
This is a beautiful wine that draws you in immediately with its rich aromas of honeysuckle, lemon, ginger, apricot and wax, making for a heady, attractive nose. The palate is just as rich and complex, and it's silky smooth and bright, a certain saltiness adding to the gorgeous mix of fruity and savoury characters.
This is a wine that demands attention, and you'll want to savour every drop, rather than guzzle it down. Perfect with cheese or chicken.
About Domaine des Notes Bleues
Cedric Mottet founded Domaine des Notes Bleues in 2017, a modest estate comprised of roughly four hectares spread across numerous small plots in the communes of Mesnay and Arbois.
The vineyards are predominantly planted to Chardonnay, but he has Savagnin and Trousseau too and has plans to increase his holdings, so we can expect more reds in the future.
Cedric makes a multitude of cuvees, each its own unique expression but the wines are united by barrel aging for texture and a focus on minerality, complexity and purity.
Jura is an historic region where new additions are rare, rarer still is one that comes on to the scene with such astonishing quality. These are wanderlust wines, wines that make you want to pack a bag and set off in search of adventure, vinous or otherwise. We suspect this is just the beginning for Domaine des Bleues.
